Laval, February 13th 2014 – The Québec outdoors tourism partners’ collective is proud to launch its “Outdoors” campaign, offering their total tourism productsunder one banner. Based on a wide range of promotional tools designed to better position the destination and improve the visibility of the outdoors tourism products of Québec, this campaign is aimed at the markets outside of Québec such as French-speaking countries in Europe, Canada andthe United States.
QuébecOriginal Brochure and Québec Outdoors map
The new QuébecOriginal lure brochure has been designed to position Québec as a major outdoors tourism destination for consumers. It is combined with the Québec Outdoorsmap highlighting the companies that are interested in marketing their products outside of Québec. These promotional tools will be distributed during outdoors, adventure and travel shows in order to promote the quebecoriginal.ca/outdoors website.
This entirely bilingual website is easy and dynamic for consumers to navigate and focuses on eight major experiences: national parks, forest lodgings, aboriginal experiences, aquatic activities, excursions, wildlife observation, high-adrenalin and winteractivities that, combined, embody the wide variety of outdoors tourism. To keep up with the increasing popularity of tablets and smart phones quebecoriginal.ca/outdoors was created with the help of ADN communication with responsive design in mind.
The new website is also supported by a media campaign of more than $100,000, 60 % of which is being spent in French-speaking countries in Europe and 40 % in Canada and the United States.
About the Québec outdoors tourism partners’ collective
Promoting tourism is a priority in Québec. Québec Outdoors partners – Tourisme Québec, Aventure Écotourisme Québec, Québec Outfitters, Québec Aboriginal Tourism, SEPAQ – have combined their strengths to meet the increasing demand for outdoors tourism. Regional partners such as Tourisme Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Québec City and Area Tourism, Tourisme Laurentides and Nunavik Tourism also join in the promotional efforts.
By outdoors tourism we mean: “Tourism that includes outdoor activities such as adventure, discovery, aboriginal experience or a stay in the forest. These activities must be undertaken in a natural setting, can be accompanied by a guide or not and provide interaction with the environment.” The main values of outdoors tourism are authenticity, safety, and respect for the cultural and natural environment.
